A high-performance recruitment platform with complex search and advanced employer/candidate management. I took the system over a few years after its launch and have been extending it continuously ever since. More than 70,000 candidates and hundreds of thousands of applications, with 150–200 active listings on average. Its core is the recruiters' admin interface, recently enhanced with AI-based candidate matching.

The Challenge

I took over the system a few years after its launch, on a Symfony 1.4 codebase. The challenge has been delivering a constant stream of feature requests on a large, live system: efficient search across more than 70,000 candidates and hundreds of thousands of applications, automating recruiters' work, and connecting the system to external services – all without interrupting operations.

The Solution

The core of the system is the admin interface that helps recruiters register, search and partially automate contact with candidates. In a major development I built an AI-based solution that decides candidates' suitability for a listing and automatically records textual and percentage-based match assessments for existing applications. I also connected the system to several external systems: taking over candidates initiated by another site, sending statistics to Power BI, and providing various API endpoints. Feature development continues to this day on a roughly monthly cadence, and a rewrite to the latest Symfony is planned.
